FPT universal Direct Drive 5 axis milling head is unique in the world, thanks to its conception and machining possibilities.
The continuous movement of its two bodies is through a special Direct Drive integrated motorization, studied and set up by FPT’s engineers.
This solution permits to mill in 5 axes continuous in the space, or 3+2 axes, with rotation speed and accuracy levels not achievable by other existing heads. Furthermore, this head reduces to “0” the Pivot length so that the machine daylight is fully exploitable, whereas the orthogonal heads lose up to 50% of the working area.
Such performances are obtained by FPT D.D. head with an extreme structural simplicity if compared to other universal heads, with great advantages for reliability and maintenance.
Another exclusive performance of this head is that to permit an undercutting of 10°, reaching positions normally not accessible. This technological jewel is completed by the possibility to be automatically exchanged with another head or accessory; further confi rmation of the high technology that FPT can express.
