FPT’s Friction Stir Welding solutions at EUROGUSS 2026

Friction Stir Welding Technology

A highlight of FPT’s participation will be StirCell, the company’s advanced Friction Stir Welding (FSW) machine, which will be on display at Euroguss 2026.

StirCell represents a technological breakthrough in the field of FSW and is used across numerous strategic industrial sectors thanks to its versatility, precision, and reliability.

Sustainability: FSW is a green technology, requiring less energy than conventional welding and producing no fumes, gas, electric arcs, or sprays. These features make friction welding both environmentally sustainable and safe for operators’ health and safety.

Process Automation and Repeatability: StirCell’s FSW process is fully automated, ensuring a high degree of reproducibility and minimizing the risk of defects. FSW does not require filler material and makes it possible to weld difficult materials, such as aluminum alloys, heterogeneous metals, and very thick components (up to 80 mm) in a single pass.
