Cultivating the Thinking Heads of tomorrow
by Eleonora Rossi, HR Generalist A look at the dialogue between FPT and the next generation of talents
If you spend even an hour in our departments, you realize that FPT is a world driven by ideas, and above all, by the people behind those ideas: the “Thinking Heads” who, every day, through their know-how, experience, and intuition, contribute to the creation of the technology for which we are recognized worldwide. In this context, Human Resources plays a dual strategic role: on one hand, recognizing and valuing internal talent, while supporting processes and initiatives aimed at preserving and transmitting their skills; on the other, attracting new talent who can grow alongside the company and become passionate about our products.
Opening doors, building bridges
To interpret this role at its best, we have collaborated with multiple corporate departments to implement concrete and lasting actions. Alongside an ambitious project promoted by Operations, the introduction of new figures and methodologies for technical assistance, and the monitoring of onboarding training, we have contributed to the mission of standardizing processes and sharing knowledge. Over the last few years, we have worked to build a consolidated and collaborative relationship with local Technical Institutes, Universities, and, more recently, Higher Technical Institutes (ITS). We have opened our doors to numerous classes of students who, accompanied by their professors, have visited FPT. We shared our company’s history with these hundreds of young people, and guided by expert colleagues, they were able to see the departments where our technology and machinery are born and grow.

Listening to the most authentic voices
Every meeting has provided us with curiosity, insights, and, above all, the chance to sow passion. Indeed, many of these young people - through internships, school-work transition programs, and university thesis placements - have since become our colleagues. Now, it is their turn to tell their personal and professional growth stories to visiting students or during school orientation events. They don’t hide the difficulties of dealing with a challenging product, early responsibilities, international travel, or demanding clients. But they also speak of how they finally manage to give meaning to the concepts studied at school and enrich them; how they learn new things every day thanks to the tutors who support them; and how they learn to thrive outside their comfort zones, even on the other side of the world.
The Thinking Heads of tomorrow
We hope these testimonies, together with those of colleagues who have built solid careers at FPT, serve not only to provide a full understanding of our reality but also to support young people during the delicate phase of entering the workforce for the first time. It is our wish that many of them become our “Thinking Heads” of tomorrow. We need the balance of solid experience and fresh innovation, which thrive by continuing and strengthening the synergy between senior and junior talent - a synergy in which we strongly believe.
